George Pollock Jr founded the FSHD Cycling Team in 2017 to participate in the Race Across America to raise awareness and to raise funds to find a cure for FSH Muscular Dystrophy. The Team successfully finished the race in 2017 and 2019 and raised significant funds for FSHD research. The Team then raced the 2021 Race Across the West, finishing 1st in the 50 to 59 age division. The FSHD Cycling Team continues to participate in endurance cycling events to raise awareness of FSHD and to raise funds to fund research to find a cure.
Our mission is to Inspire those living with a chronic disease to live life to the best of their abilities. The FSHD Cycling Team hopes to inspire by their participation in endurance bicycle races with a goal to raise awareness and raise funds for research, education and treatment that will benefit patients and families everywhere.
